A Wise Woman Builds ~ Proverbs 14:1
A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands ~Proverbs 14:1 (New Living Translation)

God created women to be the bearers of life.  Every woman, including one who has never birthed a child, has the DNA of a mother with the gifts of nurturing and maternity.  Because of this precious gift God has imbedded into all women, we have the unique ability to make a positive impact on the lives of others with the words we say, the looks we give and the gentle caresses on our son’s and daughter’s cheeks when they have scraped their knee.

In reflecting on Proverbs 14:1,  I am encouraged to CONNECT.  A wise woman finds ways to connect to younger generations in an effort to build relationships, the community and even the faith of others.

I am also encouraged to COMFORT.  A wise woman takes time to reach out and comfort those who are in need of a kind word or a smile.  A wise woman also builds by comforting people with the Word of God.

Thirdly, this text also reminds me to CHALLENGE.  I am encouraged to build and impact the next generation by not only challenging myself, but also challenges my family and friends to set goals and work towards them.  As mothers and wise women, we should ALWAYS challenge our children to strive for excellence in every area of their lives.

Lastly, A Wise Woman builds by our demonstration of CHARACTER.  It is our responsibility as mothers and wise women to teach our children to live upright before the Lord.  We have an obligation to impact the next generation by demonstrating godly character at all times.

Proverbs 14:1 conveys to us that a wise woman can greatly improve a marriage, family, home, and community, even into future generations; while a foolish woman can ruin the potential of her family and destroy it.

As I close, I would like to encourage you and say, Mothers, you are needed! Do not grow weary in your high calling but know that the Lord is pleased with your sacrifice that will impact eternity.  If you are feeling tired or discouraged, do not be dismayed, you are doing kingdom work and at times it can be exhausting. Do not become overwhelmed but seek your strength from our heavenly Father who can refresh your soul unlike anything else on this earth.
